Albert F. Cianni, 71, Nashwauk, died Fri. Nov. 2, 2012 in his home. He was born Oct. 1, 1941 in Chisholm, MN to Dino and Josephine Gambucci Cianni. He had served in the US Coast Guard and had lived in New York working as a purchasing agent for Pan Am. He returned to northern MN in 1975 where he worked as a purchasing agent for Hibbing Taconite, Minnesota Twist Drill and Ainsworth paper products. In his free time, Albert was a NASCAR follower, had volunteered at the annual Itasca County Sheriff’s party, but his favorite times were spent at his cabin on Swan Lake.
He is survived by his wife Joanne, his children Torin Finver of Atlanta, GA, Hillary (Richard) Landau of Westchester, NY, Nicole Thornton of Hibbing and Jeffrey Bailey of Nashwauk, his sister Emma Jean (Robert) Gregorich of Stevens Point, WI, his brother Lou (Karen) Cianni of Chisholm, MN, grandchildren Hollace, Harrison, Charlotte, Kayla and Sage, his mother-in-law Josephine Sterle, his brother-in-law Ron (Sharon) Sterle and numerous nieces and nephews.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at the Dougherty Funeral Home on Wednesday; Nov. 7, from 5 to 7 p.m.
