Albert M. Klobuchar

Albert M. Klobuchar, 87, Kelly Lake, died Sunday, November 22, 2015, in his home.  He was born in Carson Lake on March 1, 1928, to George and Katherine (Belan) Klobuchar.  Albert graduated from Hibbing High School in 1946 and enlisted in the US Army on August 8, 1946.  He was honorably discharged in 1947, and enrolled at Hibbing Junior College, graduating in 1948.  Albert continued his education at UMD, graduating in 1951 with a bachelor’s degree.  He completed his education with a business degree from the University of Oregon in 1953.  Albert began his working career as office personnel at Mahoning Ore Company.  From 1957—1963, he was an investment representative with John J. Kinnard Investments.  Albert completed his working career with Davy McKee Engineering, retiring in 1981, as a purchasing agent.  He was an avid reader who made daily visits to the Hibbing Public Library to read multiple newspapers.  He was a soft-spoken, mild-mannered gentleman who only raised his voice when defending or promoting his Democratic ideals.

Albert is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; by a sister, Mary (Matt J.) Stimac; and by two brothers, William Klobuchar and Edward Klobuchar.

Per Albert’s wishes, there will be no funeral service.  Interment will be made privately in Maple Hill Cemetery, Hibbing.  Arrangements are with Dougherty Funeral Home, Hibbing.  To leave an online message of condolence, please visit www.doughertyofhibbing.com .
