Andrea Mae “Dolly” Heem
Andrea Mae “Dolly” Heem, 73, Pengilly, died peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, January 19, 2014, in her home.  She was born on October 18, 1940, in Gonvick, MN to Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Bakke.   She was united in marriage to Richard Dale Heem on July 20, 1957, in International Falls.  She was the owner/operator of Dolly’s Hair Care in Keewatin for many years.  In addition to her business, Dolly served as the secretary for Richard’s business, Dollick Exteriors.  Dolly was a longtime member of Swan Lake Country Club and her passion was quilting.  Her intricate quilts were admired by many and made wonderful gifts for family and friends.  She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was teaching her only great-granddaughter, Delilah, to sew and quilt.
Dolly is survived by her five children:  Steve Heem of Texas, Denise (Gary) Heem of Angora, MN, JoAnn Heem of Bemidji, Beth (Richard) Stark of Balkan, and Dale (Sarah) Heem of Plymouth, MN; six grandchildren:  Brandon ,Travis, Tyler, Jeremy, Jessica, and Jennifer; a great-granddaughter, Delilah; a sister, Annette Schwab of Littlefork, MN.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, in 1996; her parents; brothers Romaine “Herb” Herberg and Manley Herberg and many of her golfing friends.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 11AM until 1 PM on Sunday, January 26, 2014, at Dougherty Funeral Home, Hibbing.  Interment will be in Dentaybowe Cemetery, Dentaybowe Township, MN at a later date.  To leave an online message of condolence, please visit www.doughertyofhibbing.com.
