Angelyn J. Cade, 104, Nashwauk died Friday, December 27, 2013 at Fairview Range Medical Center in Hibbing. She was born on February 6, 1909 to Joseph and Katherine (Preblich) Sterbenz in Bigfork, MN. She had been a resident of Nashwauk for over 60 years. She held many jobs throughout her life, and co-owned and operated the Hilltop Gift Shop in Nashwauk. She loved her flower gardens, working in the yard, baking, and taking her dog for a walk.
She is survived by her daughter, Jackie Cade, Nashwauk, MN., and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and her great-great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Millard Cade in 1953, her parents, Joseph and Katherine (Preblich) Sterbenz, her two brothers, Rudy and Joe Sterbenz, and her six sisters, Rose Saylor, Anne Latterell, Marie Casey, Josephine Mitchell, Katie Stimac, and Helen Sterbenz.
Funeral services for Angelyn will be held at 11:00am, Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church in Nashwauk. The Rev. Fr. Dennis Hoffman will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral Mass at the church on Tuesday. Interment will be in the Nashwauk Cemetery in Nashwauk. Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
