Ann Marie Kettunen
Ann Marie Kettunen, 64, rural Mountain Iron, died Friday, July 26, 2013, at home. She was born in Grand Rapids on Sept. 1, 1948, to Harry and Olga Corwin. Ann graduated from Greenway High School in 1966, and then from Bemidji State University. She and Bruce Kettunen were united in marriage on August 4, 1984 in Pengilly. She worked in elementary education for several years, but spent the majority of her teaching career in K-12 special education, retiring in 2006 from the Nashwauk—Keewatin School District. Ann was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and AAUW. She enjoyed scrapbooking, card making and travel, especially her five trips to Norway.
Ann is survived by her husband, Bruce Kettunen, of Mountain Iron; a daughter, Theresa (Jacob) Ulvi of Duluth; a son, Eric Kettunen, of Hibbing; a brother, Harry “Chuck” (Mary) Corwin, Jr of Cohasset; a sister, Betty Dryg of Rochester, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be Tuesday, July 30, 2013 from 6—8 PM at Dougherty Funeral Home, Hibbing, with parish wake prayers at 7:30 PM. Visitation will continue on Wednesday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Hibbing, from 10 AM until the 11 AM Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Hibbing.
