Ann M. Philips
Ann M. Philips, 90, Hibbing, died Monday, December 24, 2012, at Guardian Angels Health Care Center, Hibbing. She was born in Rice Lake, MN on May 5, 1922, to John and Mary Shebly. During World War II, Ann worked for Hanna Mining Company in the Cooley Mine. She was united in marriage to Charles Philips on May 4, 1946 in Nashwauk, and they made their home in Hibbing. Ann later worked at Kentucky Fried Chicken in Hibbing for 16 years was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Hibbing. She enjoyed visiting friends, playing bingo, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by a daughter, Kathy (Don) Slosson of Hibbing; three sons: Terry (Cindy) Philips of Hibbing, Vic (Dina Alred) Philips of Keewatin, and Tom (Amy) Philips of Pengilly; seven grandchildren: Dawn Marie (Mark Wagemann) Slosson, Amanda (Erek Bye) Robinette, Victoria (Matt) Wittmer, Brandi (Chris) Franck, Chancellor Philips, Benjamin Philips, and Matthew Philips; seven great-grandchildren; and by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Philips, Sr., in 1968; by a son, Charles J. Philips, in 2008; by her parents; by four brothers; and by 3 sisters.
Visitation will be Thursday January 3, 2012, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Hibbing, for one hour prior to the 11 AM Mass of Christian Burial.
