Antoinette Marie “Toni” DiIorio
Antoinette Marie “Toni” DiIorio, 91, Hibbing, former longtime Keewatin resident passed away peacefully Monday October 17, 2016 at Home Sweet Home in Hibbing surrounded by her family. She was born to Michael and Mary Concetta (Iacampo) Iaizzo in Bennett Location near Keewatin on April 8, 1925. Toni graduated from Keewatin High School in 1943. She was united in marriage to Chris P. DiIorio on Oct. 4, 1947, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Keewatin, where they made their home for almost 60 years. She was an active volunteer in the community including the Keewatin Senior Citizens, Keewatin VFW Auxiliary, and Brownie and Cub Scout Leader. She was very active in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Keewatin including many circles, prayer groups, teaching catechism, was St. Mary’s Sacristand, and a member of the Carmelites and Blue Army. She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, knitting and crocheting. She was very proud of her children and grandchildren and cherished the time she spent with them.
Toni is survived by four children, John (Donna) DiIorio, Houston, TX, Chris (Stephanie) DiIorio, Nashwauk, Judy (Todd) Haley, Elbow Lake, MN, and Jane (Bruce) Kruger, Buck Lake, her sister, Pasqualine (Abner) Johnston, Edina, sisters in law, Irene Iaizzo, White Bear Lake, MN and Camille Petosa, Staten Island, NY, 12 grandchildren, Nicole (Sal) Lopez, Martha (Jay) Harden, Michael (Kristine) DiIorio, Joshua (Katie) DiIorio, Zachary (Leah Fillman) DiIorio, Matthew, Benjamin, and Christina Kruize, Garrett and Justin Haley, and Kenneth and Kourtney Kruger, 2 great grandchildren, Desiree DiIorio and Salvador Lopez. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chris, her parents, granddaughter, Melissa DiIorio, brother, Tony Iaizzo, and sisters, Mary Sue (Clyde) Hamilton and Virginia (Lou) Marotti.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am . Saturday, October 22, 2016 in St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Seth Gogolin celebrating the Mass of Christian Burial. Visitation will be Saturday in Church starting at 10:00 am. Burial will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery, Hibbing, MN. Immediately following lunch will be at Keewatin Community Center.
