Barbara J. Amendolare, 78, Hibbing died Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Valley Health Services in Herkimer, NY. She was born on November 19, 1938 to Gunnard and Cecelia (Bozich) Holmberg in Hibbing. A graduate of Hibbing High School, Barbara became an X-Ray technician and was employed with the Mesaba Clinic in Hibbing. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Hibbing. She was a member of the Eagles, and Red Hats Society as well. Barbara enjoyed crafts, but spending time with her grandchildren was of most importance to her.
She is survived by her husband, George Amendolare Sr., Herkimer, NY, daughter, Laurie (David) Olds, Hibbing, step-children, Kelly Joaquin, Ilion, NY, George Amendolare Jr., Hibbing, MN, and Wayne (Robin) Amendolare, MN, four grandchildren, Jessica (Derek) Lundquist, Hibbing, Ryan (Kayla) Olds, Hibbing, Tyler Olds, Virginia, MN, and Paige (Zach) LeTendre, Hibbing, four great-grandchildren, Kendall, Owen, Easton, and Willa, many nieces, nephews, along with many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother Raymond Holmberg.
Funeral services for Barbara will be 11:00am, Friday, September 22, 2017 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Hibbing. The Rev. Fr. Gabriel Waweru will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral Mass at the church on Friday. A private family interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery of Hibbing. Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
