Barbara Lee Chernugal
Barbara Lee Chernugal, 63, Toivola Township, died Saturday, May 24, 2014, in her home. She was born in Bigfork, Minnesota on Aug. 8, 1950, to Gaylord and Lucille Magner. Barb grew up in International Falls and graduated from International Falls High School in 1969. She had been a waitress at Sportsmen’s Restaurant in Hibbing and a member of Hibbing Christian Assembly Church. Barb was very active in Al-Anon. She loved country western music and dancing.
She is survived by her husband, Gary Chernugal, of Toivola Township; a son, Kevin Tufvander of Brainerd, MN; a granddaughter, Hannahbeth Tufvander; a step-son, Matthew Chernugal of St. Paul, MN; a step-grandson, Connor Hay; four siblings: Gaylyn (Jan) Magner of Sauk Rapids, MN, Daniel (Sue) Magner of International Falls, Sue (Konrad Sobkowicz) Magner of Fort Frances, Ontario, and Gregory (Peggy) Magner of McGregor, MN; and by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and by a sister, Anida Montgomery.
Visitation will be Friday May 30, 2014 at Dougherty Funeral Home, Hibbing, from 11 AM until the 12 Noon funeral service. The Rev. Rod Tuomi will officiate.
