Barbara A. (Frye) Frider
Barbara A. Frider, 72, lifelong resident of Hibbing died Saturday, January 5, 2013 at her daughter’s home with her family by her side. She was born on June 20, 1940 to Howard and Marion (Dillon) Frye in Hibbing. She was an Assumption School Graduate and Hibbing High School Graduate. Barb was employed with the Fairview University Medical Center-Mesabi for 25 years in Physical Therapy and a recovery room aid, retiring in 2002. She was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Hibbing, where she attended daily Mass and then went for morning coffee. She was also a member of the morning church girls, and the McDonalds Girls Coffee Club. Barb enjoyed Friday night happy hour with Marge, Don, and the gang for 30 years. She was a wonderful Mother and will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her children, Tim (Claudia Schneider) Frider, Kathy (Dan Stolp) Frider, and Karen Frider, all of Hibbing, her three grandchildren, Davey Wherland, Patrick Westerlund, and Billy Wherland, whom she enjoyed spending time with and was very proud of; her special niece, Dede (Brett) Wiener, Hibbing, and special friend, Mike Marincel, Hibbing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, William Frider in 2008, her sister, Mary Kay Frye, and brother, Jack Frye.
Funeral services for Barb will be held at 12:00 noon Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Hibbing. The Rev. Fr. Anthony Craig will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral Mass at the church on Wednesday. Interment will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery of Hibbing. Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
