Barbara M.E. Hocking, 85, Kelly Lake in Hibbing, MN, died Monday, March 24, 2014 in the Heritage Manor Health Care Center, Chisholm, MN. She was born Jan. 22, 1929 in Baudette, MN to Fred and Annie Lore. Barbara spent her grew up in Nashwauk, MN until moving to Kelly Lake when she was 12. She married Richard Hocking on July 6, 1948 and they made their home in Kelly Lake where she had been the president of the Kelly Lake PTA. She was an active member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church being a member of both the Grace Circle and Crafts Club. She was also a past officer with the Lutheran Brotherhood.
She is survived by her children Donna (Michael) Hukka of Hibbing, Richard (Kay) Hocking of Apple Valley, MN and Cindy (Frank) Chamernick of Hibbing; her grandchildren: Andrea (Derek) Stish, Jill (Ryan) Sorensen, Amy (Patrick) Rossini, Philip (Josie) Hocking and Frank Chamernick Jr.; her great grandchildren: Mia Stish, Gianna Rossini, Kyle Sorensen, Rocco Rossini, Crosby Stish and Peyton Hocking.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Richard in 1981, 3 brothers, 2 sisters and a great granddaughter Sawyer Stish.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday in our Saviors Lutheran Church, Hibbing. Visitation will be Saturday from Noon until service time in the church. Burial will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery, Hibbing. Pallbearers are: Philip Hocking, Fran Chamernick Jr., Derek Stish, Patrick Rossini and Ryan Sorensen. Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home, Hibbing
