Beatrice Ellen Grobove

Beatrice E. Grobove, 96, Bovey, formerly of Bigfork and Hibbing died Friday, May 6, 2016 at home with family by her side.  She was born on December 16, 1919 to Charles and Gladys (Lewis) Rootes in Sigma, MI.  Beatrice lived in Hibbing on Old Highway 73 for nearly 25 years, later she moved to Bigfork from 1974 to 2002, and most recently resided in Bovey from 2002 until the present. She was employed with Hibbing General Hospital during her time in Hibbing.  She was a lifetime member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, and CCW.  Beatrice was an excellent cook, she took pride in making sarma’s, homemade cottage cheese and bread.  She also enjoyed canning, crocheting, and creating ceramic dolls.

She is survived by her children, Janice Drescich, Lawrence Lake, MN, Adam Grobove, Janet Lake, MN, Arlene (Ted) Jarvis, Bovey, MN, Richard (Marcella) Grobove, Lawrence Lake, MN, and Linda (Charles) Grell, Bovey, MN, 20 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren, 36 great-great-grandchildren, and remarkably 6, great-great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Gladys, her husband, Adam A. Grobove Sr., her daughter, Elaine Gladys LaChapelle, and 7 siblings, Roy, Carl, Lloyd, Luther, Raymond, Vera, and Ida.

Funeral services for Beatrice will be held at 11:00am, Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church in Nashwauk.  The Rev. Fr. Seth Gogolin will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral Mass at the church on Wednesday.  Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery of Hibbing.  Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
