Bernadine J. Borovac, 95, Hibbing, died Thursday, February 7, 2013, at Fairview University Medical Center—Mesabi, Hibbing.  She was born in Chisholm, MN on March 9, 1917, to John and Frances (Stukel) Perko.  She loved dancing and singing, crosswords, and playing cards.  A beloved mother, she was brave, feisty and funny, and her potica and pasties were unrivaled.  She will be missed by all who knew her.
Bernadine is survived by her husband, John Borovac, of Hibbing; six children:  Joyce (Gregg) Reynolds of Olympia, WA; John “Jack” Borovac of San Anselmo, CA; Michael (Carole) Borovac of Side Lake, MN; Mary Keele of Hibbing, Margaret “Peggy” (Louis) Corazza of Juneau, AK; and Clare (Chris) Scott of Minneapolis, MN; 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by two daughters, Patricia Borovac Small and Kathleen Borovac; her parents; and by seven sisters and two brothers.
Visitation will be Saturday February 16, 2013, in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church from 10 AM until the 11 AM Mass of Christian Burial; luncheon to follow.  Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery at a later date.  Arrangements are with Dougherty Funeral Home, Hibbing.
