Bernard Pierce, 78, Hibbing, MN, formerly of Chisholm, MN, died Monday, May 26, 2014 in St. Mary’s Essentia Medical Center, Duluth, MN. He was born in Rauch, MN and had worked for Goroni’s Electric for 3 years before working at the garment factory in Chisholm for 20 years. He retired from Hibbing Tac in 1997 after 20 years of service. He was a member of the 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus in Chisholm.
He is survived by his wife Geraldine (Tawyea) Pierce, his son Alan (Paula) Pierce, daughters; Denise Pierce Toldo and Tina (Gary) Pierce Bye, 6 granddaughters, 2 grandsons and 11 great grandchildren; 2 sisters; Betty (Dick) Pierce Wilson and Shirley (John) Pierce Slavich. He was preceded in death by mother Frances, father, John and a brother Frank.
Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. services in the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Hibbing. Burial will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Andy Turner, Chucky Webb, Rick Wilson, Scott Rice, Raymond Tawyea and Tom Baldwin. Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home.
