Bernice L. (Grzybowski) Gladen
Bernice L. (Grzybowski) Gladen, 85, Hibbing, MN, died Thursday, July 20, 2017 at Fairview Range Medical Center. She was born in Oulu, WI, on September 27, 1931 to Matt and Lempi Marjamaki. Bernice grew up in Oulu, moving to Duluth after graduating from high school. She married Edward Grzybowski and moved to Hibbing shortly thereafter. She was a loving, caring, hardworking mother of five children. She worked at Pamida, Shopko, Hibbing Electronics, Golden Crest Nursing Home, and St. Louis County during her career. She was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and the VFW Post 8510, 1221 Ladies Auxiliary. She married Leon Gladen in 2001, and together they traveled the world. They especially enjoyed their trips to Alaska, Canada, and Hawaii.
She is survived by her children David (Karen) Grzybowski of Lino Lakes, MN, Dan (Kathy) Grzybowski of Hibbing, Deborah (Vincent) Clement of Cherry, MN, Diane (Scott) Nehiba of Hibbing, and Douglas (Mary) Grzybowski of Kenai, AK; her sister-in-law Phyllis Marjamaki of Crystal, MN; grandchildren Amy (Dennis) Zahn, Kerry (Clayton) Asp, Brian (Melissa) Grzybowski, Angie (Josh) Weaver, Eric Grzybowski; Jessica (Austen) Jensen, Theodore Clement, Timothy Clement, Dawn (Scott) Hayes, Shae Nehiba, Cody Nehiba, Matthew Grzybowski, Elizabeth Grzybowski, Lexa Adami, and Damien Adami; and her great-grandchildren Braxen, Landen, Ayla, Olivia, Jack, Lucy, Abby, Cal, Amelia, Penny, Jackson, Bryce, Addie, and Grant.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Edward Grzybowski in 1992 and Leon Gladen in 2016, and her brother, Raymond Marjamaki.
Her family would like to thank the staff and residents at Guardian Angels and Deacon Richard Johnston for their friendship and care.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 25, 2017, in the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Hibbing. Visitation will be in the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery, Hibbing.
