Betty J. LaLonde, 84, Hibbing, died Sunday, Oct. 12, 2014 in Hillcrest Parkside, Hibbing. She was born June 16, 1930 in Duluth, MN to Benjamin and Edna (Norton) Amyotte. Betty had lived in Becker and Eveleth, MN before moving to Hibbing. She was a member of the Eveleth Women’s Aglow, but her real joy was spending time with her family. She also enjoyed knitting and crocheting.
She is survived by her husband Donald W. LaLonde Jr. of Silver Bay, MN, children; Donald W. (Tessie) LaLonde III, of Hibbing, MN, Benjamin (Mary) LaLonde of Coon Rapids, MN, Deborah (Anthony) Richey of Rochester, MN, Jeffrey (Delores) LaLonde of Anoka, MN, Vicki (Mark) Carey of Evart, MI, Carolyn (Robert) Warner of Ocala, FL, and Brian (Rebecca) LaLonde of Winston-Salem, NC, sisters; Barbara (Richard) Wutz of Esko, MN and Patricia (Frank) Susler of Hartland, WI, 21 grandchildren, 11 plus one on the way great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17, 2014 in the Abundant Life Church in Hibbing. The Rev. Dave Oler will officiate. Visitation will be in the Dougherty Funeral Home from 6-8pm, Thursday, October 16, 2014. The visitation will continue in the church on Friday from 2 p.m. until the funeral service time. Interment will be in Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls, MN, on Monday, October 20, 2014. Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
