Betty Ellen Parrucci
Betty Ellen Parrucci, 89, Chisholm, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, November 07, 2011, at Fairview University Medical Center—Mesabi, Hibbing.  She was born April 18, 1922, in Cedar Rapids, IA to Louis V. and Anna Lowrey.  Betty graduated from Chisholm High School in 1940, and was united in marriage to Roland Parrucci that same year.  She was a homemaker who had also worked as a nurse’s aide at Chisholm Memorial Hospital, Hibbing General Hospital, Buchanan Nursing Home and Golden Crest Nursing Home.  Betty enjoyed knitting with her craft club and her casino trips.  She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, the Chisholm Senior Citizens Club, and the Chisholm Moose Club.
She is survived by 5 children:  Kittie (Warren) Swanson of Blaine, Ron (Suzanne) Parrucci of Centerville, MN, Yvonne Parrucci of San Diego, CA, Joan (John) Leschak of Bloomington, MN and David (Beth) Parrucci of Apple Valley, MN; 18 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson, a cousin, Bud Lowrey of Pharr, TX, and many friends.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Roland, in 1980, a son, James Parrucci in 1967, and by her parents.
Mass of Christian burial will be11 AM Thursday November 10, 2011, in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Chisholm.  At Betty’s request, there will be no visitation prior to the funeral Mass, but following interment at Chisholm Cemetery, her family will host a reception in the church fellowship hall.
Arrangements are with Dougherty Funeral Home, Hibbing.
