Brenda L. Kangas, 59, Hibbing, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, Feb. 7, 2015 at St Luke’s Hospital, Duluth, MN. She was born Dec. 26, 1955 in Hibbing to Michael and Marie Hecomovich. She married Wally Kangas on June 18, 1988 and together they made their home in Hibbing where they raised their family. Brenda had helped her husband with his drain cleaning business and in her free time she enjoyed bowling in the various bowling leagues of Hibbing or hunting and fishing.
She is survived by her husband Wally, her children; Jeremy (Amanda) Warren of Fargo, ND, Shawn (Heather) Warren, Eric Warren, Chad (Sherry) Warren and Jacob (Arlene) Kangas, all of Hibbing, her sister Linda (Marvin) Wilson of Grand Rapids, MN, 8 grandchildren; Mariah, Tanner, Devin, Laela, Rihanna, Jayne, Destiny and Jace along with numerous nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p..m Thursday in the Dougherty Funeral Home, Hibbing. The Rev. Tim Yearyean will officiate. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time in the funeral home. Burial will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery, Hibbing. Pallbearers are: Nick Wilson, Brian Wilson, Paul Wourms, Shane Thronson, Justin Thronson and Ken Orazem. Honorary pallbearers are: Marv Wilson, Justin Erickson, Marv Sirjord, Richard Samson, Vance Giroux, Ron Flake, Gary Kangas and Jon Vue.
