Brett Henry Wheeler Vesel

Brett Henry Wheeler Vesel was born December 26, 2000, in Hibbing, MN to David and Laurie (Duff) Vesel. He graduated from North Dakota State University with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and was employed at Applied Engineering of Fargo. Brett’s amazing sense of humor, intelligence, musical ability and kindness is what he will be remembered most for. Brett’s unexpected departure is devastating, and he will be missed by all who loved him. 

He is survived by his parents, David and Laurie (Duff) Vesel of Hibbing; sister, Kaitlyn (Jake) Larson of Bemidji; nephew, Will Larson who he was so proud of; godparents, Jay Kintner of Hibbing, and MaryBeth Zylka of Duluth; along with many loving Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and friends. 

Brett is preceded in death by his grandparents, Hank and Barbara Vesel of Hibbing, Bradley and Marion Duff of Duluth; and namesake Joseph Bretto of Hibbing. 

A Memorial Service will be held on March 22, 2025, at 12:30 PM at the Dougherty Funeral Home in Hibbing with a visitation from 11 AM – 12:30 PM and a light luncheon to follow. Steve Tomberlin will be officiating the service. A private interment at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing, MN will be held at a later date.
