Carol B. Killien

Carol B. Killien, 96, Hibbing died Thursday, August 27, 2015, at Heritage Manor in Chisholm, MN.  She was born on April 6, 1919, to John H. and Harriet May (Chandler) Bunker in Hibbing.  Carol was a graduate of Hibbing High School and completed two years at Hibbing Junior College.  A homemaker by trade, Carol held various jobs throughout her life.  She was a member of St. James Episcopal Church in Hibbing where she was very active.  She was a Sunday school teacher, a volunteer for the St. James Guild, and was a member of the altar guild as well.  She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and homemakers sewing club.

She is survived by her four children: Nancy (Lucky) Kilen, Hibbing, Pat Gisvold, Yuma, AZ, and Hamilton, MT, Rick (Donnetta) Killien, Evans, GA, and Larry (Cheryl) Killien, Chisholm, MN; twelve grandchildren;15 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; and by two nieces and two nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard L. Killien; her brother, Chandler Bunker; and a sister, Joan Erspamer.

Funeral services for Carol will be held at 1:00pm, Saturday, September 5, 2015, at St. James Episcopal Church in Hibbing.  The Rev. Sally Maxwell will officiate.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service at the church on Saturday.  A private interment will take place at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Hibbing.  Memorials can be given to St. James Episcopal Church, Carol’s church of 96 years.  Arrangements are with Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
