Carol Emily Shuper
Carol Emily Shuper, 77, lifelong Hibbing resident, died Saturday, October 24, 2015 at her home. She was born in Hibbing to Everett and Emily (Benson) Swanson on February 10, 1938. She graduated from Itasca Community College in Grand Rapids with a nursing degree and was employed with the Chisholm Hospital and Golden Crest Nursing Home. Carol enjoyed doing puzzles, painting ceramics, and her family was very important to her especially her children and grandchildren. She had been a member of Women of the Moose #664, Itasca Community College Alumni, Hibbing Senior Bowling, and was a member of First Lutheran Church.
Carol will be missed by her husband James Sr., children, James Shuper Jr., Hibbing, Jeff Shuper in Florida, Everett (Lisa Jackson) Shuper, Brandon, FL, and Carol Jean (Jeff DeRider) Shuper, Hibbing, siblings, Donald (Kathy), Keith (Connie), and Warren (Kathy) Swanson, 2 grandchildren, Sarah Shuper-DeRider, and Toni Ann Shuper, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends, Bernice, Alice, Vivian, Opal, and Tom Vukich, and her beloved dog, Herman.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM., Tuesday, November 3, 2015, in First Lutheran Church with the Rev. Ben Schori officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM. Monday in the Dougherty Funeral Home and continue in Church on Tuesday beginning at 10:00 am. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
