Carold “Max” Francis DeJarlais
Carold “Max” Francis DeJarlais, 70, of Hibbing, died unexpectedly at home on October 1, 2017. Born in Hibbing to Carold “Jiggs” and Philomena “Minnie” (Comparoni) DeJarlais on April 12, 1947, Carold grew up in Keewatin and graduated from Nashwauk/Keewatin High School in 1965. He married Linda Suihkonen on May 24, 1991 in Virginia, MN. Carold was employed with the City of Chisholm as a police officer for 16 years. He had a great love for his nieces and nephews, and enjoyed the great outdoors, gardening, and his “pet” chipmunks.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; brothers, James (Mary) DeJarlais, St. Paul, MN, and David DeJarlais, Vadnais Heights, MN; nieces and nephews, Nathan (Felicia), Katie (Bob), Tara (Michael), Erica (Nick), Elissa (Christopher), Johnna, Kalea (James), Jared, Jacob, John Lee, Joseph, Viivi, Eeva, Jack and Katie; great-nieces and nephews Tanner, Ashtyn, Romina, Natalya, Graham, Cecily, Maren, Achaius, and Margot. He was preceded in death by his parents, and loving canine companion, Babe.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am. Saturday, October 7, 2017, at the Dougherty Funeral Home with Deacon Richard Johnston officiating. Visitation will be for one hour before the service. Burial will be at Maple Hill Cemetery immediately following the service.
