Carole Hope Helstrom
Carole Hope Helstrom, Hibbing, passed away peacefully in her home December 5, 2014 with her family by her side after battling a long illness.  Carole was born in a log cabin at Dewey Lake north of Chisholm to her parents George and Taimi Pajunen and attended Hibbing Schools.  That is where she met the love of her life James Helstrom and they married September 20, 1957 and spent a wonderful 57 years together.  Carole was a loving wife and devoted mother to her three sons.  In her husband Jim’s words “it is not goodbye-only so long…to my prayer partner, my friend, my lover, my faithful, loving and caring wife of 57 years…we grew old together.” Carole was devoted to many different church ministries including music, prayer and hospital visitation in addition to personally affecting many lives with her compassion, care and understanding.  The family would like to extend a special thank you to Cindy Shears, Jen Braerley, Jamme Haas, and Jean Milani.  They provided exceptional care and showed wonderful dedication during the last several months with Carole.
Carole is survived by her loving husband James, sons, Mike (Carolyn), Greg (Lisa), and Mark (Christina), all of Hibbing, 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren, sisters, Geraldine Cappo, and Georgia Christenson, She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Taimi and her brother, Duane Pajunen.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 am., Tuesday, December 9, 2014 in the Abundant Life Church with the Revs. David Oler and Randy Williamson officiating.  Visitation will begin in Church on Tuesday at 10:00 am.  Burial will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery.
