Catherine Martha Pahule

Catherine Martha Pahule, 95, lifelong Hibbing resident died Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at her home. She was born in Chicago, Ill. to Marco and Roza Maras on January 29, 1918.  Catherine loved shopping, visiting her friends at the Androy, walking, and dancing.  She loved talking to her children on the phone and reminiscing with them about the good times on Penobscott Hill.  She also loved watching the Bachelor and Dancing with the Stars on television.  Catherine was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
She is survived by her children, Shirley Ann Hines, Plymouth, MN, Kathleen (Bill) Crowle, Sun City, AZ, Edward Paul, Pensicola, FL, Richard (Kathy) Pahule, Panama City Beach, FL, Robert (Gayle) Pahule, Hibbing, and Rachelle “Shelly” (John) Marshall, Hibbing, Shelly was honored to be her mom’s primary caregiver for many years, her sister, Ann Kelly, Hibbing, 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Edward Pahule in 2003, 4 brothers, Nick, George, John and Robert Maras, and two sisters, Mary Starcevic and Lucille Crnkovich
Per Catherine’s request, there will be a private family Mass on Tuesday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Hibbing.  The Rev. Fr. Brian Lederer will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial.  Interment will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery of Hibbing.  Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
