Charles W. Holmstrom
Charles W. Holmstrom, 65, Nashwauk, MN, born January 26, 1948 in Gackle, ND, died April 4, 2013 in Duluth, MN. Charles spent his life loving and caring for his family. He served his country in Vietnam and made his career as an iron worker for US Steel. He is survived by his loving wife Sarah(nee Liubakka), of Nashwauk; his children; Stephanie (Keith) Frankki of Lidgerwood, ND, Marjorie Holmstrom Nitz of N. St. Paul, MN, Charles (Brenna) Holmstrom of Bovey, MN, Joan (Cole) Christensen of Marble, MN and Walter Holmstrom of Nashwauk; grandchildren: Benjamin, Zachary, Dylan, Penelope, Alana, Reuben, Bret, Layne, Clara and Ean; his aunt Helvie of Grand Rapids, MN, and sisters Linda Gabel of Deer River, MN and Fay (Edward) Lahti of Hemet, CA, and his brothers and sisters in faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vaino and Esther (nee’ Isaacs) Holmstrom and his sisters Florence and Joyce.
He will be remembered for his love of cars, random strays and his gruff voice that disguised a soft heart.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, Apr. 9, 2013, in the Independent Apostolic Lutheran Church in Cedar Valley, MN. Visitation will be in the church Monday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday, from 12 Noon until service time in the church. Private burial services will be held in the Lindenwood Cemetery, Deer River, MN. Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home.
