Charles Zubich
Charles Zubich, 81, Hibbing, died Tuesday, April 29, 2014 in the Grand Itasca Medical Center, Grand Rapids, MN. He was born March 15, 1933 in Hibbing to Dan and Mary Zubich and was an Army veteran of the Korean War. Charles returned to Hibbing where he and his brother Stanley owned and operated the Trocadero Bar. He was a member of the DAV Russo-Golob Chapter #3. Whether in the bar or out, Charles always enjoyed the music that was played.
He is survived by his brother Barney Zubich, his sister Dessy Laurich and his sister in law Rosie Zubich, all of Hibbing along with numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings; Mary (Joe) Baratto, Anthony (Ann) Zubich, Augustina (Fred) Schwartz, Julie (John) Edwin, Daniel (Beverly) Zubich, Frank Zubich, Stanley (Lola) Zubich and Barbara (Kaino) Hill.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Hibbing. The Rev. Brian Lederer will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial. Visitation will be in the church from 9 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers are: John Baratto, Fred Schwartz, Jerry Hill, Franklin Zubich, Kevin Zubich and Mark Laurich. Honorary Pallbearers are: Tony Zubich, Dan Zubich, Paul Hill, Robert Hill, Craig Laurich, Jack Edwin and Gene Edwin. Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home.
