Charlotte was a lifelong member of St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church in Nashwauk. Charlotte had worked for a time as a Library Aide in the Nashwauk-Keewatin School District where she was loved by all the school children and staff and also served a term on the N-K School Board. She also chaperoned a trip to Florida with the N-K Band. She was also a member of Nashwauk American Legion Auxiliary Post #307 since 1965. Charlotte was a devoted housewife and mother and raised seven children and her grand-daughter, Brittiney. She loved to be with her family, friends and neighbors especially when they would go with her to play bingo and go to the casino. She was a fabulous cook and baker and loved to decorate cakes for local celebrations. She took family and friends on many trips, some being Disney Land, Disney World, Black Hills, Yellowstone and many, many more wonderful adventures. She was a strong, compassionate, caring and nurturing mother and friend that would listen and convey her thoughts to you even if you did not want to hear it. She was usually right! Her little dog, Jazzable Marie Brown, was her faithful companion as well as other animals that she took care of over the years. They knew they would be loved. A special thank you to her friends, Sheri (Maynard) Elj and Debbie Stimac who were always there helping her, Jeanette Kalisch who was always baking for her, Dolly Marano who would visit her and Nancy/Necia Nunn who were her lifelong neighbors and checked in on her daily. Thank you to those family, friends and neighbors who came to visit her while she was at home and could no longer get out and while she was in Evergreen Terrace Nursing Home for the past seven months. Charlotte’s only regret in her life which was not having more children, but said she was very lucky for what God gave her! We were the lucky ones to have had her!

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am. Wednesday, April 5, 2017 in St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Seth Gogolin celebrating the Mass.  Visitation will be for one hour before Mass.  Burial will be in Nashwauk Cemetery. Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home.
