Claire E. Landskov
Claire E. Landskov, 84, Mt. Iron, formerly of Hibbing, died Wednesday, December 3, 2014, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth. He was born in Prairie Farm, Wis. to Clarence and Beatrice (Seeger) Landskov on May 26, 1930. Claire was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, having served with the Combat Engineers as a Staff Sergeant. During his tour in Korea, his unit operated north of the 38th parallel. Claire had many careers including the store at Side Lake and ending as a Maintenance Supervisor at Hibbing Taconite. He was a member of Kiwanis International and VFW Post 8510. Volunteering was important to Claire including the Genealogical Center at Ironworld.
He is survived by his sons: Kirk (Sandi) Landskov Waconia, MN, Todd (Faye) Landskov in Washington, and Mark (Ellen) Landskov, Hibbing; his life partner, Peggy Anderson, Mt. Iron, grandchildren: Sasha, Shiloh, Sarah (Thomas Baker), Madeline (Ramon Gurubel), Ana and Emma, great grandchildren, Adam, Mason, Trystin, and Addison. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Arlene Landskov in 1999.
Memorial services will be held at 7:00 pm. Tuesday, December 9, 2014 in the Dougherty Funeral Home, Hibbing, with the Rev. Fr. Brian Lederer officiating. Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm. Burial will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery.
