Clarence A. “Skeezex” Traeger

Clarence A. “Skeezex” Traeger, 88, of Hibbing, passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at Heritage Manor in Chisholm.  Clarence was born October 3, 1928 to Frank and Anna (Miller) Traeger in Sauk Centre, MN.  Clarence and his wife Peggy left Hibbing in 1975 and spent 26 years in Estill Springs, TN before returning to Hibbing. Clarence was an  avid gardener and landscaper.  He loved tending to his grape vines, pear and apple trees, picking pecans for family and was an honorary member of the FCE club of the University of Tennessee.

Clarence is survived by his beloved wife Peggy (Sager) Traeger of Hibbing, his sisters Doloris “DoDo” Shimek of Buhl, and Leona (John Sather) Hammerbeck of Hibbing, sisters-in-law Connie (Sherman K.) Sirjord of Hibbing, Ruby Ruzicka of Bemidji, and many nieces and nephews.

Clarence was preceded in death by both of his parents, and his siblings: Wilfred Traeger, Clarice Strgar, Frank Traeger, and Philip Traeger.

Services will be held 11:00am Monday May 8, 2017 at the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Monday.  Interment with military honors accorded by the Mid-Range Honor Guard will be held at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing. Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
