Dakota S. Husmann

Dakota S. Husmann, age 29, of Hibbing, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at his home in Hibbing, MN. He was born on December 3, 1995, in Hibbing, MN to Lori Laitala and Sean Dilley. 

Dakota attended Hibbing High School and went on to get his CDL. He had a great sense of humor and always played jokes on his friends and family. Dakota enjoyed playing darts and played in a league every Wednesday; traveling and experiencing new things; he especially liked visiting Las Vegas; spending time at Toivo's Pub in Hibbing; and having fires with friends and family. He was especially proud of his son, Nathan, and loved spending every moment with him that he could.

He is survived by his father, Sean Dilley; parents, Lori and Joel Laitala; son, Nathan Husmann; significant other, Jessica Laine and her children; siblings, Noah Laitala, Austin (Brittany) Laitala, Dana (Derek) Laitala, Destiny (Austin) Dilley, and Courtney Dilley; paternal grandparents, Antoinette and Pat Dilley, Maxine Vanhese, and JoAnn Laitala; maternal grandmother, Anne Belcher; very close aunts and uncles, aunt Dollie, uncle Donny, uncle Steve, uncle Mike, and family; special cousin, Cassandra Jesperson; close friends, Logan Stewart, Warren Koski, and Andrew Koski; and many other family and friends. 

Dakota is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Jane and Bill Edwards, and Michael Husmann; paternal grandfather, Jim Laitala; and special uncle Bin. 

A Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at the Sportsman Restaurant and Tavern in Hibbing from 2 to 6 p.m.
