Dale Barsness

Dale H. Barsness, 73, formerly of Cass Lake passed away on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at home. He was born in Bemidji, MN to Mabel (Tronnes) and Harry Barsness on May 31, 1944. Dale was raised in Cass Lake before becoming a 65 year resident of Hibbing. He worked at Eveleth Taconite as an analyst in the lab. He enjoyed racing cars in his twenties, woodworking and loved NASCAR; his true joy was spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Hibbing.

Dale is survived by his wife, Pattie Barsness, children, Michael Barsness, Roseville, Bobbi (Dan) Swieringa, Hermantown, Mark (Bonnie) Barsness, Hibbing, grandchildren, Ace, Aiden, Layla and Archer Barsness, Kelsey and Tyler Swieringa, great grandchild Owen Swieringa, mother in law, Myrtle Hook of Chisholm, brothers in law, Pat (Mary) Green, Bob (Peggy) Modlisz and Erv (Sandy) Hook, special friend Tania Barsness, many nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and loved dogs Charlie and Buttercup. He was preceded in death by his parents Mabel and Harry Barsness, brother, Vernon Barsness and father in law, Swede Hook.

Memorial service will be held 12:00 noon Saturday, May 12, 2018 in Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing, with the Rev. Rod Tuomi officiating. Visitation will be for one hour before the service.
