Dale W. Stoneburner
Dale W. Stoneburner, 97, longtime resident of Hibbing died Friday, October 13, 2017 at Heritage Manor in Chisholm, MN. He was born on November 22, 1919 to Joseph and Marie Grace (Hansen) Stoneburner in Duluth, MN. Dale grew up in Duluth, moving to Hibbing in his 20’s. He proudly served his country during WWII in the U. S. Navy. He was united in marriage with Helen (Greniuk) on July 10, 1948. Dale had been an executive secretary for MA Hanna Mining. He was a member of the 1st Presbyterian Church in Hibbing, the Mesaba Lodge #255 A.F. & A.M. , the Hibbing Lodge of Perfection, all Scottish Rite Bodies and the Aad Temple Shrine. Dale enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, and reading throughout his lifetime.
He is survived by his children, John (Nancy) Stoneburner, Side Lake, MN, Jane Stoneburner, Minneapolis, MN, and Tom (Kelley) Stoneburner, Mendota Heights, MN, his four grandchildren, Katie (Dustin) Simonson, Minneapolis, MN, David Stoneburner, Watertown, NY, Michael Stoneburner, St. Paul, MN, and Natalie Stoneburner, Mendota Heights, MN, many nieces and nephews and his dear friend, Lorraine Jamar.
He was preceded in death by his son, Paul Stoneburner in 2015, his wife, Helen Stoneburner in 1996, and two brothers, Hartley and Ward Stoneburner.
Funeral services for Dale will be 1:00pm, Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing. Steve Tomberlin will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the memorial service at the funeral home on Saturday. A private family interment will take place at the Maple Hill Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing. Memorials may be made to the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital-Twin Cities.
