Daniel Grzybowski

Dan Grzybowski, 62 years old, of Hibbing, MN died on September 22, 2018. Dan was a loving husband, devoted father, and the best grandpa in the whole world. He always had a smile on his face, and a story to tell everyone he met. He retired from Keetac after forty years. He continued to work full time at a job he loved, remodeling houses with his son Brian and occasionally his grandsons Jack and Cal. Dan and Kathy would be celebrating their forty-second wedding anniversary this October. They loved spending time together camping, in Florida, fishing, traveling, and enjoying life together. Dan loved his family very much. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working with his oldest son Brian. He loved going to Star Wars movies and having long conversations with his daughter Angie. He looked forward to traveling with his son Eric and enjoyed many new experiences with him. Dan thought his grandkids were the absolute greatest. He spent as much time with them as he could, cheering them on at their sporting events, taking them for rides in his side by side, playing imagination games for hours, camping and fishing with them. Dan loved his Open Door Church family, and was passionate about sharing his faith with others. He truly loved his family and friends and will forever be missed.

Survied by: Wife: Kathy Grzybowski, Hibbing, MN. Children: Brian (Melissa) Grzybowski, Hibbing, MN. Angie (Josh) Weaver, Hibbing, MN. Eric (Miranda Black) Grzybowski, Destin, FL. Honorary Son: Steven (Gina) Oberstar Jr. Grandchildren: Jack, Lucy, Abby, Cal Grzybowski. Penelope Weaver. Siblings: Debbie (Vince) Clement, Doug (Mary) Grzybowski, Diane (Scott) Nehiba, Dave (Karen) Grzybowski. And many nieces, nephews, extended family, and wonderful friends.

Preceded in death last month by his 12-year-old grand-daughter Amelia Weaver. They had a very special bond, and we know they are talking non-stop in Heaven now. Also preceded by his parents: Edward Grzybowski, Bernice (Leon) Gladen, In-laws Herb and Millie Finney.

Memorials preferred to Open Door Church. The celebration of Dan’s life will be at Open Door Church on Thursday, September 27th. Service at 11 a.m. Visitation one hour prior with lunch immediately after the service.  Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery of Hibbing.  Arrangements are with Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
