Dawn Marie Wadd

Dawn Marie Wadd, 48, Virginia, longtime resident of Hibbing, died Saturday, May 9, 2015, at Essentia St. Mary’s Medical Center, Duluth. She was born in Hibbing on March 21, 1967, to John and Mary Ann Kochevar. Dawn graduated from Hibbing High School in 1985, and had worked most recently at Fairview Range Medical Center as a medical coder. She was a strong, courageous individual who never complained about her medical troubles. Dawn was a loving daughter, wife, step-mother and sister who loved her family, especially her uncle, Cal Saari.

Dawn is survived by her husband, Carl Wadd, of Virginia; her mother, Mary Ann Kochevar, of Hibbing; two step-sons, John—Carl and Philip Wadd, both of Virginia; a sister, Elizabeth (Dave) Gibeau, of Rome, GA; a nephew, Brady Gibeau; various other nieces, nephews, and cousins; two uncles, Cal (Barb) Saari of Nashwauk and Bill (Sarah) Kochevar of Hibbing; and an aunt, Janet Saari, of Hibbing. Dawn was preceded in death by her father, John Kochevar; by her father-in-law, John A. Wadd; an uncle, Gary Saari; and by her grandparents.

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 13, 2015, at Dougherty Funeral Home, Hibbing, for one hour prior to the 2 PM memorial service. Deacon Ray Sampson will officiate. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Hibbing. To leave an online message of condolence, please visit www.doughertyofhibbing.com .
