 Deborah R. Block, 74, passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at Essentia St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth, MN with her family by her side. She was born October 3, 1949 in Pengilly, MN. She attended school at Togo and Nashwauk, MN. She later married and resided in Nashwauk until moving to Fridley, MN where she raised two children. Debby worked as a server at the Columbia Heights VFW for several years. Due to a debilitating illness, she moved back to be near family. She lived at Nashwauk Assisted Living for 12 years before moving to Waterview Pines Nursing Home in Virginia, MN for the next two years. Debby was known to be a very good cook and homemaker. She had a unique sense of humor and a quick wit which her family enjoyed. Debby endured many health trials in the last 15 years of her life. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.

 She is survived by her children; Curtis Block, Cedar, MN, and Kimberly Block, Brooklyn Park, MN, four grandchildren, Darcel Jones, Karly Jones, Adrian Block and Zoe Block, sister, Kathleen (Ernest) Burns, brother-in-law, Joe Krznarich and sister-in-law, Pearl Smith.

 She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers; Lawrence Smith, Robert Smith, sisters; Virginia Kochar, Sue Krznarich, sister-in-law, Florence Smith, brother-in-law, Robert Kochar and faithful companion, John Daml.

 Per Deborah’s wishes there will be a family graveside service at the Nashwauk Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
