Delores Rose Kiskunas

Delores Rosalia Kiskunas, 91, longtime resident of Nashwauk died Sunday, December 31, 2017 at Cornerstone Villa in Buhl, MN.

She was born August 8, 1926, in St. Anthony, Sterns County, Minnesota to Steve and Regina (Falkner) Gangl, and she was raised in Nashwauk.  She was united in marriage to Peter Paul Kiskunas on September 5, 1953 in Los Angeles, California.

Delores was an avid reader that enjoyed the frequent relocations that her husband’s construction work demanded.  Her curiosity allowed her to make many friends throughout her life.  After Peter’s death in March of 1984, she moved back home to Nashwauk to live with her mother.  For a number of years, she worked at Maggie’s Café in Nashwauk, and she was an active member at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church.  In later years, she was incapacitated by Alzheimer’s.

She is survived by her sister Lois (Joseph) Kovach of Crestview, FL, two sisters-in-law, Sharon Gangl of Nashwauk, and Sue Gangl of Chisholm, 5 nieces and 12 nephews, and numerous great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister, Rose Clifton, and brothers Ralph, Delano and Richard Gangl.

Funeral services for Delores will be 11:00am, Saturday, January 6, 2018 at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church in Nashwauk, MN.  The Rev. Fr. Seth Gogolin will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral Mass at the church on Saturday.  Interment will be in Nashwauk Cemetery in Nashwauk, MN.
