Dennis Frederick Rediske
Dennis Frederick Rediske, 76, of Hibbing, Minnesota, passed away Thursday, September 10, 2015, at Evergreen Terrace Healthcare Community in Grand Rapids, MN. He was called to his heavenly home after a valiant battle with a long illness. His devotion to his family and his firm belief in God supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace.
Dennis was born May 5, 1939, in St. Paul, Minnesota to Charles H. and Adeline M. Rediske. After graduating from Mounds View High School, Arden Hills, Minnesota, in 1957, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. Upon serving his duty, ranking Corporal E4, he was honorably discharged in 1960.
On March 11, 1961, Dennis F. Rediske and Patricia A. Bonneson were married at Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Paul, MN. Initially they resided in St. Paul, MN and later moved to California, then in a few years moved back to Minnesota where they’ve lived ever since. God blessed their marriage with three children.
Dennis worked in the fields of accounting/finance and insurance for 25 years, later moving to northern Minnesota for the life of farming, from which he retired in 2012. He was known for his wit, compassion, inspiration, and calm resolve. He was a man of few words but when he spoke, people listened. He could lighten any mood with just a few small words.
Dennis is survived by his wife Patty; their sons: Dennis Rediske, Michael (Julie Caird) Rediske, and Ryan Rediske; grandchildren include Christine Rediske, Amelia Rediske, Derek Rediske, Colleen Rediske, and Luke Madson; step grand-daughter, Jamie Beale (Testerman); chosen grandchildren Christopher Madson and Callie Madson; step great-grandchildren Jacob Beale and Samantha Beale. He is also survived by siblings and their spouses: Rollyn & Donna Rediske, Tom & Melodee Thompson, Roger & Christina Rediske, Charlie & Marcy Rediske, Steve & Caroline Rediske, Martin Rediske, Jon Rediske, Matthew & Tammy Rediske; and by treasured friends: Ken & Betty Foster, Terry & Pat Foster, John & Bev Hall, Frank & Klara Nameny, and Lloyd & Diane Tallman.
He was preceded in death by his sister Charlene (Rediske) Lahlum; his father, Charles H. Rediske; his mother, Adeline M. (Pomplun) Rediske; and life-long friend, Bill Reinhardt.
The family would like to thank the staff of St Mary’s Hospital Duluth, Acute Care Virginia Hospital, Fairview Hospital Hibbing, Grand Itasca Hospital and Evergreen Terrace for their compassion and care during Dennis’ final days, as well as relatives and friends for their warm, loving support of Patty and immediate family.
Fear not; for Faith endures over all else.
