Dessy H. Laurich

Dessy H. Laurich, 87, Hibbing, died Wednesday October 12, 2016, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Chisholm.  She was born at home in Brooklyn on Nov. 28, 1928, to Dan and Mary Zubich.  She graduated from Hibbing High School and was united in marriage to Henry P. Laurich on July 2, 1949.  Dessy was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, National Catholic Society of Foresters, VFW Post 1221 Ladies Auxiliary, St. Joseph’s Circle, and was a volunteer at Fairview Range Medical Center.  She enjoyed playing cards, gardening, and spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren.

She is survived by four children:  Etta (David) Caldwell of Side Lake, Mark (Sheyna) Laurich of Erhard, MN, Craig (Kathy) Laurich of Side Lake, and Brenda Laurich of Chisholm; by seven grandchildren:  Lisa Caldwell, Michael (Nicole) Caldwell, Kelly (Robert) Wells, Christine Laurich, Leah (Brian) Domine, Patrick (Rachel) Laurich, and Britney Koberstein; by eight great-grandchildren:  Liam, Hudson, Kayden, Kolby, Kameron, Jackson, Faye, and Hayden; and by numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry, in 1988; by her parents; by six brothers:  Tony, Dan, Stan, Frank, Barney, and Charlie; and by four sisters:  Mary, Julie, Gustie, and Barbara.

Visitation will be Monday Oct. 17, 2016, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Hibbing, from 10 AM until the 11 AM Mass of Christian Burial.  Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.  Arrangements are with Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.   To leave an online message of condolence, please visit www.doughertyofhibbing.com .
