Diane M. Tardy Diane M. Tardy, 58, Buck Lake died Wednesday, September 9, 2015, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth, MN. She was born on June 4, 1957, to Raymond and Deloris (Frank) Koppes, Jr. in Grand Rapids, MN. After graduating from Nashwauk-Keewatin High School, Diane worked for Keewatin Taconite as a production truck driver with 38 years of service. She was a member of St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church in Nashwauk, MN. Diane’s pastimes were many and she loved her grandkids very much. Diane was an avid deer hunter, she would go fishing, camping, and she never missed a night at the race track, especially once her kids started racing. She is survived by her husband, Loran Tardy, Buck Lake, MN; two sons: Loran (Heather Hiivala) Tardy Jr., Isanti, MN, and Eric (Alicia) Tardy, Buck Lake, MN; a brother, Larry (Jackie) Koppes, Buck Lake, MN; and a sister, Nancy (Paul) Stanina, Buck Lake; step-son, Jeff (Stacy) Tardy and Carson Tardy, four grandchildren: Chloe, Alana, Willow, and Paige Tardy; many nieces and nephews; and her special family, Hunter, Brooklyn, and Tyson Hiivala. She was preceded in death by her mother, Deloris, and father, Raymond Koppes, Jr., who passed away in July; and by a brother, Duane “Dewey” Koppes, in 2012. Funeral services for Diane will be held at 12:00 noon, Tuesday, September 15, 2015, at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church in Nashwauk. The Rev. Fr. Seth Gogolin will celebrate The Mass of Christian Burial. Visitation will be held in the church on Tuesday for one hour prior to the funeral Mass. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery of Hibbing. Diane’s family would like to express a sincere thank you to Harlan & Sharon Tardy, Dave & Karen Grzybowski, Nancy & Paul Stanina, Larry & Jackie Koppes, and Curt & Tammy Salo for all the help and kindness given to the family over these past few weeks.
