Don Alfred Meyers

Don Alfred Meyers, 72, of Hibbing, MN, passed away at his home on Thursday, September 12, 2024.

He was born in Hibbing on July 1, 1952, to Clayburn and Yvonne (Hoedemacher) Meyers. Don graduated from the Hibbing High School and went on to Eveleth Vocational Technical School where he received his optician training. He worked in optics for a short amount of time and eventually changed paths and ran his own body shop for a few years.

Don worked for many years at the Northwoods Ford Body Shop from where he eventually retired. He had a passion for classic cars and especially enjoyed his '71 Duster. Don loved the races at the Hibbing Raceway and Brainerd Racetrack where he would camp with friends and family. He also liked getting out on his Yamaha 1100 Vstar Motorcycle, traveling around the country to different places, having a good meal and telling stories. Don was known for his different sense of humor, having no filter and saying exactly what was on his mind. He will be missed. 

Don is survived by his son Bou (Vicki Lee) Meyers, siblings Michael, Charlie and Irene, stepson and friend Adam Morse and nephew Joey Meyers.

He is preceded in death by his parents, siblings Kathy, Rick and Tony and children Holly Marie Meyers and Erin Ann Matthews.

A private graveside burial will take place at Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing and a celebration of Don's life will be held at Palmer's Tavern in Hibbing on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM.
