Donald R. “Joe” Anderson
Donald R. “Joe” Anderson, 77, Hibbing, MN, died Friday; Sept. 8, 2017 in the Fairview Range Medical Center, Hibbing. He was born Jan. 28, 1939 in Hibbing, the son of Wilbur and Mildred Anderson. He was an Air Force veteran stationed in Korea following the war. When he returned to Hibbing, it was days before he married Janice Fox on May 31, 1958. He worked as a draftsman for the Davy McKee engineering company before he became a contractor with 3M. He traveled extensively for 3M being involved with large electrical installations. Following his retirement, Joe became a greeter at the Hibbing Walmart. He was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church and its’ youth group, but his favorite times were spent at home with his family.
He is survived by his wife Janice, children Ken Anderson of Duluth, MN, Kim (Russ) Anderson of Lakeville, MN and Keith (Stacey) Anderson of Davidson, NC, a brother Russ (Mildred) Anderson of Osseo, MN and grandchildren Ben, Emily and Samantha Anderson. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters and 2 brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday in the Dougherty Funeral Home, Hibbing. Visitation will be in the funeral home from 10 am. until service time. Burial will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery.
