Donn Edward Stolp
Donn E. Stolp, 80, Cloverdale, died Saturday, June 14, 2014, at Fairview Range Medical Center, Hibbing. He was born in Hutchinson, MN on April 9, 1934, to William and Evelyn (Rassmuson) Stolp. Donn and Genevieve Halling were united in marriage on May 28, 1960, and they lived briefly in Nashwauk before settling in Cloverdale. Donn had worked for National Steel as a service truck driver, retiring after 42 years in the mines. He loved living on his farm, where he raised beef cattle. He also enjoyed reading Western novels and studying history.
He is survived by six children: Cheryl Mackey, Carole Moe, Bonnie Erickson, Dan (Kathy Frider) Stolp, Rich Stolp, and Mark (Tessi) Stolp; seven grandchildren: Ryan Roberts, Kelly (Shawn) Braford, Aaron (Kayti) Stolp, Matthew Stolp, Neil Stolp, Mike Stolp, and Joe Stolp; and by numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Donn was preceded in death by his wife, Genevieve, in 2011; by his parents; by a sister, Lynn Nickerson; by a brother, Roger Stolp; and by a son-in-law, Ed Moe.
