Donna J. Stuntebeck passed away unexpectedly on March 6, 2025. She was born on December 24, 1936, in Leetonia, MN, to John and Estelle Klobuchar, and was preceded in death by her parents, John and Estelle; her brothers, James and John David Klobuchar; and her grandson, Dennis Mackey Jr.
Donna was an extraordinary woman – witty, intelligent, talented, creative, generous, and caring. Growing up in Leetonia and Hibbing, she was a 1955 graduate of Hibbing High School, earned her bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Minnesota Duluth, and later obtained a master’s degree in Curriculum Writing from Bemidji State University in 1993. Donna proudly taught junior high in Fargo, ND, and Seattle, WA, taught English at Hibbing Technical College, and served as the Special Needs Administrator for Hibbing Community College. After retiring from education in 1998, she focused on earning her Master Gardener certification and volunteered her gardening skills to many. She created an incredible garden at her home and welcomed garden club tours, and was actively involved in various committees, including her beloved Friends of the Hibbing Public Library. Donna deeply loved her family and friends, and enjoyed traveling, gardening, quilting, crossword puzzles, entertaining, reading voraciously, and spending time with her beloved grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters, Stacy (Dennis) Mackey and Nancy (Jeffrey) Clusiau; her grandchildren, Zachary (Amy) Mackey, Benjamin Mackey, and Sean (Janelle) Mackey; Elias Clusiau, Remy Clusiau, and Juliet Clusiau; her great-grandchildren, Adelynn and Raylynn (Sean) Mackey; and a grandchild expected to arrive in August to Zachary Mackey.
