Donna Rae Swanger

Donna Rae Swanger, 69, lifelong resident of Hibbing died unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 in Hibbing.  She was born August 7, 1949 to Donald and Gloria (Cossick) Krtinich in Hibbing.  Donna was employed with the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Parish in Hibbing, retiring after 23 years of service as their church secretary.  She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Hibbing.  Donna enjoyed reading, shopping, vacationing at a beach and especially spending time with her children and their families.  Donna was a very caring person.  Her best trait was that she could listen and talk to anyone she came in contact with.

She is survived by her three children, Mike (Sandy) Swanger, Hibbing, MN, Maggie (Joe Jelinek) Swanger, St. Paul, MN, and Sara (Tom) Williams, Inver Grove Heights, MN, sister, Sandie Fena, Hibbing, four beloved grandchildren, Blayke Swanger, Lexi & Madi Sanders, and Luke Williams, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, her dog, Sunny, and cat, Miss Iris.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert in 2012, parents, Donald and Gloria, and her brother Billy Krtinich.

Funeral services for Donna will be 11:30 am, Monday, June 3, 2019 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Hibbing.  The Rev. Fr. Gabriel Waweru will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial.  Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the 11:30 am funeral Mass at the church on Monday.  Private interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery of Hibbing.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Donna’s honor to the Range Regional Animal Rescue of Hibbing.  Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
