Doris E. Aamodt, 89, lifelong resident of Hibbing died Monday, March 19, 2012 at Guardian Angels Health and Rehabilitation Center in Hibbing.  She was born on Septomber 1, 1922 to Joseph and Irene (Latterel) Kniffin in Cook, MN. Doris was employed as a Nurse’s Aide for Fairview University Medical Center-Mesabi in Hibbing.  She was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Chruch in Hibbing.
Doris is survived by her three grandchildren, Rick (Joann) Koziol, Hibbing, Christine Fredrickson, Hibbing, and Joseph (Annette) Aamodt, Mascoutah, IL., seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted Aamodt Jr.,  her three children, Georgia Koziol, Ted Aamodt III, and Charlene “Chuckie” Aamodt,and her parents, Joseph and Irene (Latterel) Kniffin.
Funeral services for Doris will be held at 12:00 noon, Friday, March 23, 2012 at  Dougherty Funeral Home in Hibbing.  The Rev. Fr. Gabriel Waweru will officiate.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday.  Interment will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery of Hibbing.  Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
