Dorothy Michels

Dorothy Michels, 89, died Wednesday July 19, 2017 at Hillcrest Memory Care in Hibbing.  She was born on August 31, 1927 in Nashwauk, MN to Vasa and Savo Shock.  Dorothy was a lifelong Nashwauk and Hibbing resident, working various secretarial jobs during her career, including Langer Equipment, Mesaba Clinic and the Hibbing Tourist Center.  In her later years, she was a greeter at Walmart until her retirement.  She was a perfectionist in everything she did.  She enjoyed cooking and sharing her dishes with her family, especially her brother Stan, who she was especially close to.  She also loved an occasional trip to the casino.
Dorothy is survived by her sister Rose Passeri, and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings George, Ugo, John and Stan Shock, Donna Bonovich and Sophie Foster.
There will be no service, as per her wishes.  Arrangements are entrusted to Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
