Duane "Dewey" Koppes

Duane (Dewey) Lee Koppes 52 died unexpectedly on September 29, in Virginia, MN.  He was born October 23, 1959 in Grand Rapids, MN to Deloris and Raymond Koppes.  He attended school in Nashwauk and graduated from there in 1978.  Dewey worked at various jobs including being the owner of the Buck Stop Convenience Store in Buck Lake, but he took the most pride in following in the footsteps of his father doing concrete work.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Deloris Koppes. Dewey loved spending time with family and friends, especially Ann, Nick and Joe, They were the light of his life.
He is survived by his long time girlfriend and mother of his son, Ann Rautio of Virginia;  his son, Nicholas Rautio Koppes still at home and Joe Rautio still at home who was like his own son, his father, Raymond (Sylvia) Koppes of Buck Lake, three siblings; Larry (Jackie) Koppes; Diane (Loran) Tardy and Nancy (Paul) Stanina all of Buck Lake, 6 nephews and one niece, and several great nieces and nephews.
Dewey will be missed by so many, especially his sister Diane who he was very close with; Tara (Nathan) Thronson; Nick, Joe and the rest of his family.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, October 6, 2012 in St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church in Nashwauk with the Rev. Fr. Dennis Hoffman celebrating the Mass.   Visitation will be in Church for one hour before the service.  Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home.
