Edith Tawyea

Edith Angeline (McDougall) Tawyea, age 80 of Hibbing, MN, passed away in November 26, 2021 at the Vermilion Senior Living Center in Tower, MN.  She was born in Cook, MN on May 25, 1941 to Allen McDougall and Margaret Gonier.  Edith was a member of the Bois Forte Band of Chippewa in Nett Lake and grew up in Hibbing, MN and attended Hibbing public schools.  She was a homemaker and raised her family well as she loved cooking.  Edith’s faith was very important to her as she was a converted Methodist.  She was a members of the Hibbing Bowling League and loved to enjoy that with her friends.

Edith is survived by her children; Raymond (Tracey Hall) Tawyea of Hibbing, MN, Renee Johnson of Chisholm, MN, Jamie (Cindy) Tawyea of Peoria, AZ and Joseph Tawyea of Britt, MN, siblings; Fred (Mary) McDougall of Hibbing, Dale Werman of Minneapolis, MN and Vivian Werman of Hibbing, MN, her grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 1PM at the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing on Monday, December 6, 2021.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  A private interment will take place at a later date at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing.
