Edward A. Olson, 74, Hibbing, died Monday October 31, 2011, at Fairview University Medical Center—Mesabi, Hibbing.  He was born in Park Rapids, MN on March 24, 1937, to Alvin and Ella Olson.   Edward and Joyce Lahtela were united in marriage on September 1, 1956 in Hibbing.  He had retired from National Steel Pellet Company where he was known as “Easy Ed” or “Steady Eddie.”   Edward was a very creative person who enjoyed oil painting and doing carpentry work in his shop.  He loved to spend time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Joyce Olson of Hibbing; 5 children:  Keith (Becky) Olson of Hibbing, Patty (Larry) Pocrnich of Hibbing, Penny (Greg) Feltus of Nashwauk, Sherri (Larry Warren) Cook of Hibbing, and Terri “Sam”  (Rick) Skalsky of Hibbing; 23 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Ileen Pintar.
Visitation will be Friday Nov. 4, 2011, at Open Door Church, Hibbing, from 10 AM until the 11 Am funeral service.  The Rev. Roland Weaver will officiate.  Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Hibbing.  Arrangements are with Dougherty Funeral Home, Hibbing.
