Edwin J. Moe, 64, Hibbing, died Tuesday, May 27, 2014 in Hibbing. He was born Sept. 14, 1949 in Grand Rapids, MN, the son of Ed and Opal Moe. Edwin worked at National Steel and later for US Steel at the Keetac plant in Keewatin. He retired as a heavy equipment operator. Edwin was always interested in motors which included motorcycling, working on engines and he also acted as garage security for NASCAR Racing. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his wife Carole, his children: Eric (Jacqueline) Moe of Stillwater, MN, Gretchen Moe of Hibbing, Melissa Moe of Biwabik, MN, Glenn Moe of Aurora, MN and his stepson Ryan Roberts of Hibbing, his siblings Gene (Vonna) Tardy of Nashwauk, MN, Ken (Judy) Tardy in California, Jan (Ted) Dzwonkowski of Biwabik, Karen (Dave) Lindquist of Nashwauk and Sandy Moe of Grand Rapids, MN; and his grandchildren: Cade Roberts, Kayla Thompson, Riley Thompson, Chloee Moe, Wyatt Moe and Lola Roberts.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his stepmother Alice Moe and a sister Helen Gardiner.
At Ed’s request, no services are planned. Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home.
